Immersion Research Union Suit Review

How many of you have had to swim? How about in the winter? If you're not dressed properly that river run becomes long and miserable. That was my first experience winter paddling – cold. That was before and now I enjoy warmth and comfort because I have Immersion Research's awesome Union Suit.

The union suit is a one piece cold-weather base layer which is super comfy and easy to get on and off. With its stretchy neoprene collar, you simply enter the suit via the neck opening and bam - instant warmth, no zippers or closures to mess with. It really is a nice convenience and the only base layer I've seen like that.

The women's union suit is equipped with a relief opening in the back – very convenient. The double sided fleece, made of a polyester, spandex blend, not only keeps you warm on the river, but it's also great to wear around the campsite on those cold nights. It's kinda like having pajamas on. In fact for the absolute ultimate in cold weather kayaking comfort and convenience, wear a dry suit over your union suit. You will be warm and dry all day. But almost even better, when you get back to the campsite, just take off your drysuit. Ta da, you are already in comfy pajamas ready to relax by the fire with your beverage of choice. My husband likes to sleep in his Eno Hammock that he loves so much with his union suit on.

I am 5'1 and ordered the small, which fits me great. With me being so short I was concerned the length would be too long; however, the length on the small fits right at my ankles. So if you are taller then 5'2, 5'3. Id recommend the medium for a better fit. This is a great product made by a great company. If you don't believe me try it out for yourself.
