Update: Hands-on review of the Brewer!

Astral Buoyancy has stepped into the footwear realm with a new shoe called the Brewer.  Looking both stylish and functional, the Brewer looks like THE shoe to have for paddlesports.

The upper part of the shoe is built out of the same stuff as Astral's amazing lifejackets.  This means they are made up of Cordura and AirMesh fabrics, which are really durable and quick drying. Great news for those that have experienced the company's lifejackets and whom spend a lot of time in the water.

The sole of the shoe is made with Stealth Rubber. To those unfamiliar, Stealth Rubber was developed by Charles Cole, founder of Five Ten.  This is to say that they will have class-leading traction on wet surfaces.

I have to say that the technical specifications of the Brewer sound really impressive.  What I'm even more excited about though is how they managed to pack all of that into a stylish and low-profile shoe.  These look like they will be awesome to use as a kayaking shoe with a quick draining sole, quick dry fabric, etc.  At the same time, I can literally step out of my kayak and into the bar for an after river beer or wear them around town.  The Brewers come in both men and women's sizes. Colors are Black/White, Black/Lime and Navy/Azul for Men. Gray/Maroon and Navy/Azul for Women.

Look for a hands-on review within the next couple of weeks! In the meantime, go to http://www.astralbuoyancy.com/2012/products/brewer.php for more information and check out the video below where Dagger's Chris Gragtmans talks about his experience with the Brewer
